The Centurion Jewelry Show is known as "the better retail jeweler's favorite trade show". An invitation-only show, the event features only the whos-who of the jewelry industry.
A Completely Different Type Of Jewelry Trade Show
How The Centurion Jewelry Show Started
It began at a February 2001 meeting of about 100 higher-end jewelry designers and manufacturers. By the close of that meeting, the group agreed to support President and CEO Howard Hauben in the creation of a new show.
Of note was that the show would be equally-owned by the exhibitors and Hauben’s H2 Consulting, Inc. They would work on the “same side of the table” to put on great hosted-style shows for the better fine jewelry retailers who are the exhibitors’ best customers and prospects.
This style of show partnership was not only a first for the fine jewelry business but was also unheard of in the trade show industry altogether. As a result, Hauben was asked to speak shortly after launching the company about the model at the annual CEO Conference of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO).
Fast Forward to today and the model is still alive and thriving. Centurion now features more than 140 of the industry’s top designers and manufacturers and hosts some 250 top jewelry stores at its annual Phoenix event in the late January to early February time frame. Centurion spent its first 10 years in Tucson and for the past 11 years from Phoenix continues to lead into the Tucson Gem Shows. This enables a number of better jewelers to conveniently cover both shows on the same trip.
At Centurion, the experience is everything! Exhibitors and Retailers enjoy a private gathering of 1,000+people over four-five days in beautiful Phoenix. They work together in salons on a beautiful collection floor, where they calmly review lines and gorgeous jewelry items together to be featured in the country’s most impressive stores.
Centurion truly brings everyone together to build business and relationships. The event features great food, plenty of open-bar networking, wonderful breakfast educational sessions and some of the top speakers and entertainers in the world, including United States Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush; guest speakers Peyton Manning, Joe Torre, Marcus Lemonis, Henry Winkler; comedians Dana Carvey, George Wallace, Cathy Griffin, Chelsea Handler, Harland Williams and Sebastian Maniscalco; Jim Belushi, Earth Wind & Fire, KC and the Sunshine Band, Bare Naked Ladies and many others. Centurion is truly a landmark event that everyone loves and looks forward to attending.
“Looking back over 20 years, Centurion has grown and become a strong industry brand and helped create nearly a Billion dollars in sales among our attendees and exhibitors,” said Howard Hauben. “Our structure where we work hand-in-hand with our exhibitors has truly helped to make the event stronger and able to weather major challenges like 9-11, which happened just before the first show, the great recession of 2008-2009 and now the COVID-19 Pandemic.,” he added. “We very much look forward to the next 20 years of growing together.”
